A couple of weeks ago, you may remember that I made a tiny baby pillow for my friend Jillian's baby shower from one of Ben's old band t-shirts.   Well, Jillian and her husband Todd liked it so much that they asked me to make them a couple more!  I am pretty stoked with the finished pillows and I really love this idea.   Ben and I have so many cool vintage t-shirts and too many band t-shirts that we have either grown out of or worn to death.  And I don't know if you guys are like me but...

This weekend I decided to attempt to make a tiny toy owl.   I was inspired by a postcard that I received from Dawn from Skunkboy Creatures.   Katie at Skunkboy Creatures is so creative and makes the cutest stuffed animals.

I think my first attempt turned out okay.   I am not sure what I will do with it now but my dog June sure likes it and thinks I made it for...

Right before Christmas, my very pregnant friend Jillian had another baby shower but this time it was here in Starkville.   Although I had already given her a gift, I didn't want to show up empty handed.  So I decided to make this quick and easy tiny baby pillow using thrift store fabric and one of Ben's old t-shirts.  Both the t-shirt and the fabric were super soft, which I think should be perfect for their new little baby.

This holiday season I decided to make fun DIY decorations for my house.   I made this green and silver winter wreath using this tutorial from Design*Sponge.  Mine doesn't look a lot like their wreath, but I am happy with it.  I love the way this wreath looks on my front door and it was not hard to make but be advised that it takes longer to make than one would...

I am pretty in love with the new little notebook I made for myself.  I used WPA poster images for the front and back covers.  I filled it with all kinds of fun paper, pretty tarot cards, guest checks for grocery lists, some images from a calendar Ben bought me and a couple of vintage National Audubon Society bird cards.

A couple of weeks ago I mentioned that my friend Nikki and I were in charge of the decorations for my friend Katie's Bridal Brunch on the day of her wedding.  I am proud to report that both the bridal brunch and the wedding were beautiful and so much fun. Here are a couple of our DIY Bridal Brunch Projects: 1.  Candy Bar Wrappers These little candy bars are Hershey's Nuggets in milk chocolate.   I used  Martha Stewart's Miniature Love Candy Bar template for the K and...

This past weekend was my friend Jillian's baby shower.  I decided to make her little one a collage for his nursery.  I was inspired by a similar collage that my friend Katie Murphey made for a baby shower last year and Petit Collage found via Martha Stewart.   Check out the easy tutorial and template here. I used vintage wrapping paper, craft paper scraps, the inside of envelopes and even the back of some of my leftover wedding programs to make the different pieces.  Once I had all of my paper picked out, I went to Lowe's and...

My friend Jillian is having a baby and her Aunt Trudy is making her a baby quilt.  They asked friends and family members to help out by embroidering a square each having a different animal.  I think this is such a wonderful idea and I am honored to be a part of it.  I can't wait to see this special quilt completed. This little rhino is the first item I have ever embroidered.   Thanks Nikki for my embroidery lessons, you are the...

A couple weekends ago, my friend Katie Doughty and I pulled an all nighter crafting these pretty Bridal Luncheon Invitations for our friend Katie Murphey's upcoming Bridal Brunch.   I am pretty happy with the result. We  designed and printed these at my house, cut the cardstock and cardboard with my new paper cutter and sewed them together.  Once that was done,  all we had to do was punch the holes and tie on the ribbon.  It sounds easy but actually took quite a bit of time and patience.   For...
