A couple of weekends ago, my sweet angel turned two and we had a puppy themed birthday party.  Since Liam spent his first birthday in the hospital and we had to cancel his party, I decided to go all out this year.  Puppies/dogs are his favorite right now, so it was settled.  I started planning the party about 3 months before so I could take my time planning, crafting and building doghouses.

Puppy Party Invitations

I got the idea for these puppy invitations from Pinterest but I changed it up a little. photo(1) Since it was a puppy themed party, we decided to help out Grassroots Animal Rescue by requesting that guests bring donations  instead of gifts.  I am so happy that we did this because we collected so much stuff for them.

In case you are planning a Puppy Party, here are some ideas that you are welcome to steal!

2 with puppies

I made this 2 out of cardboard and wrapped it with fabric strips. We later added rocks to keep it on the table because it was so windy.

house 2

We made two doghouses out of cardboard, cut out doors and windows, added decorations and shingles. These took longer than I thought they would but the kids loved them. Sadly only one made it home from the party.

Toilet Water

I made these labels in Microsoft word, stamped them with a rubber paw stamp and used clear packing tape to adhere them to the bottles.

Bone Snacks

I bought a couple of dog bowls from the dollar store and used them to hold various snacks. These little bone shaped snacks are Scooby-Doo baked graham crackers. They were so precious and were really tasty.

Puppy Chow

We used cocoa puffs as puppy chow!

Dog Cupcakes

These cute little dogs are from Amazon and make the best cupcake toppers.

For party favors, I filled these puppy eggs with bone snacks, puppy chow and cheddar bunnies since Liam's birthday is a week before Easter.

For party favors, I filled these puppy eggs with bone snacks, puppy chow and Annie’s Cheddar Bunnies since Liam’s birthday is a week before Easter. I stamped the bags with my paw print rubber stamp and used washi tape to seal them.

Puppy suckers

We also had dog suckers!

Puppy Ears

In place of party hats, we had puppy ears. These were a hit. Even some of the adults wore them.

Puppy Ears

To keep the toddlers busy we had a bubble station, we let them Go Fetch

and they got to adopt a puppy.

Bone Signs

Free to Good Home

The roof of this little doghouse is made from the inside of the box our Honest diapers are delivered in.

Go Fetch

Liam loved the giant beach ball!

Puppy Bubbles

I love this bubble machine! It was less than $10 on Amazon and the children thought it was awesome. For the bubbles, I bought a 12 pack of bubbles, removed the labels and cut strips of construction paper and stamped them with my paw print stamp.

Liam Puppy Shirt

I am not the biggest fan of those embroidered shirts that say something like birthday boy or whatever, so I found this cute bulldog shirt from Caustic Threads on Etsy. #hailstate

Eating a cupcake

I think Liam had a blast! He decided he should eat his cupcake like a puppy. (Ignore my weird bangs in this photo. The wind was crazy.)
